Google Review: Starbucks. Hamilton.

Starbucks Hamilton, a logo on the shop facade.

I’ve accomplished something monumental by finishing my first Grande Green Tea Latte. I had to work through slurps and sips and scoops of cream. I pushed as the sugar smashed against my brain. I squashed the internal rebellion of doubt that arose from my teenage anti-consumerist politics. I’m in my 30’s now and it’s a revelation to find joy in something that once made my stomach twist. I’ve come to realize that Starbucks is the cosmic center of a city. It’s the one constant force in a chaotic world. Honestly, learning to love Starbucks is like falling in love with life. There are so many possibilities ahead of me: Caramel Frappuccinos, Peppermint Mochas. The coffee nerd of my early twenties is dead and I’m being reborn as a new man. I want to make new decisions that allow me to experience the pure pleasure again and again and again. The future has never felt this bright.
